Bondurant, Mixson and Elmore honors the memory of Jeffrey O. Bramlett
Bondurant, Mixson and Elmore honors the memory of Jeffrey O. Bramlett, former President of the State Bar of Georgia, former President of the Atlanta Bar Association, our former partner, mentor and friend. We are fortunate to have witnessed, first-hand, his excellence as a lawyer and his selfless commitment to public service.
Jeff was a gifted attorney. He secured notable verdicts and favorable settlements in complex cases involving a wide array of legal issues. As a testament to his legal skills and the high regard in which he was held among the Bar, other lawyers would frequently engage Jeff to represent their clients in “bet the company” disputes. Lawyers would also call on Jeff when they required advice and representation. He received many accolades as a result of his impressive record, including membership in the American College of Trial Lawyers.
While lists of big wins in complex cases give some measure of Jeff’s talent, they fail to completely describe Jeff as an attorney. Indeed, what distinguished Jeff Bramlett from other elite lawyers was his heartfelt commitment to serving those who had difficulty obtaining legal representation. Jeff frequently engaged in pro bono representation and encouraged others to do the same. As President of the State Bar, for example, Jeff established the Military Legal Assistance Program that encouraged Georgia lawyers to volunteer to provide civilian legal support to service members and veterans.
Though Jeff is no longer with us, lawyers at our firm and many others who first volunteered at the encouragement of Jeff Bramlett continue to devote a significant amount of time to providing pro bono legal services, and engaging in Bar and other civic activities. Through this work, Jeff’s legacy endures.
