Bondurant Mixson & Elmore Hires John Leyting as Controller
Leyting brings to the firm 35+ years of accounting experience in the professional services industry
Bondurant Mixson & Elmore, an elite boutique litigation firm tackling high-stakes disputes for plaintiffs and defendants, announces John W. Leyting joined the firm as its new controller. He mostly recently served as controller for a leading civil litigation law firm in the Southeast.
Leyting is responsible for managing a variety of accounting and finance functions and systems for the firm, as well as providing ancillary support to the payroll department.
“John has a successful track record of implementing new systems, processes and tools that benefited his previous firms, and ultimately those firms’ clients,” says Shirley Laboy, Bondurant’s director of administration. “We look forward to having his expertise and leadership at Bondurant, and we’re confident his contributions will help us achieve our overall strategy.”
Immediately prior to joining Bondurant, Leyting served as controller for Copeland, Stair, Valz & Lovell where he managed the accounting and finance functions. Before that, he served as assistant controller at King & Spalding for over a decade.
Leyting received his B.B.A. in accounting from North Georgia College, where he was a distinguished military graduate of the Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps. Upon graduation, he served four years as an officer in the Army’s Finance Corps.
