Careers
Build your career in a culture defined by trust, excellence, and shared success.
The Associate Experience
Our firm hires each associate with the expectation that they will become an equity partner, fostering a culture of collaboration where colleagues support one another, share knowledge freely, and work together toward shared success. We offer early and substantive opportunities—brief writing, depositions, hearings, appellate arguments, and trials—across a wide variety of plaintiff and defense matters. In small, highly engaged teams, associates help shape case strategy from start to finish and are encouraged to make a broader impact through pro bono litigation, leadership roles, board service, and civic involvement.
Hands-on Experience
We offer meaningful, high-stakes litigation work and client-facing responsibility from your very first day. We staff cases leanly. Every attorney is immersed in case strategy. Associates are given the opportunity to participate fully from start to finish. This early, substantive responsibility, especially in strategy, writing, client engagement, and courtroom experience is the top reason they chose our firm over traditional big law models.
Collegial Support
Without competition for limited spots, our attorneys build strong collegial relationships and a genuine commitment to each other’s success in the office, courtroom, and beyond.
Professional Development
Bondurant prioritizes time and resources for the professional development of our associates, and we have found this investment pays dividends for both the firm and our clients.
Our philosophy is simple: because we entrust associates with substantial responsibility, the strength of the firm is directly tied to the strength of its associates.
The primary way our associates grow is through day-to-day work, gaining hands-on experience litigating real cases. We supplement practical experience with training and development initiatives, including a partner/associate mentor program, internal training from in-house experts, a professional development budget for external training, and feedback from all partners for whom the associate has performed substantial work.

Judicial Clerkships
We value the perspective and skills that come from serving as a judicial law clerk—one of the most coveted opportunities in the legal profession. Our attorneys who have clerked bring firsthand insight into judicial decision-making, research and writing skills, and practical courtroom experience gained through close collaboration with judges. This highly competitive, one- to two-year role not only sharpens legal acumen but also strengthens the foundation for the high-level litigation work our firm handles every day.
of our lawyers served as law clerks for one or more judges.

Summer Program
Each year, we invite 1–4 law students to join our summer program in Atlanta. Most are rising 3Ls, but we also consider exceptional rising 2Ls, including through our partnership with the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD).
Our summer associates do real, substantive work—drafting complaints and briefs, advising clients, preparing for depositions, and more. You’ll work closely with our lawyers, contribute to active matters, and often see your work in action through trials, hearings, and client meetings. We don’t create artificial assignments; we treat summer associates as junior lawyers. Beyond the work, we want you to get to know both the firm and the city. We organize a range of social events—meals, concerts, sporting events, and more—designed to introduce you to Atlanta and help you connect with everyone at the firm.
Most of our summer associates split their time with another firm, usually a larger one, and we encourage that. Our program often runs in the second half of summer, but we’re flexible on timing.
Compensation is competitive with the top firms in Atlanta.
We will participate in June early Virtual Interview Programs for rising 2L law students at the following schools:
University of Georgia | Emory University | Georgia State University
While our relatively small size prevents us from being able to visit every campus that we would wish to, we welcome direct applications.
A Note from
Our Hiring Partner,
Tiana S. Mykkeltvedt
Thank you for your interest in Bondurant. We recruit top law students who are passionate about litigation and excited to build their careers at a boutique firm in Atlanta.
We know the recruiting timeline keeps moving earlier, often to the detriment of students. We believe it’s unrealistic to expect law students to commit after just one semester, especially while preparing for finals. So we’re doing things differently.
Therefore, we have made the decision to conduct our hiring process for 2026 Summer Associates along the following timeline:
- May 15, 2025: We will begin accepting applications for 2026 Summer Associates. We will require a full year of 1L grades before receiving a final offer, but you may apply and then supplement your application when grades are received.
- June 2025: We will conduct preliminary interviews and in-person call backs during the month of June with a goal of extending offers by the end of the month.
We understand that top candidates may receive offers before we make our decisions. Even if you’ve accepted another offer, you can still apply to BME—we encourage summer associates to split with another firm. Most do, often with big law firms in Atlanta or other cities. If you’re unsure about splitting, we encourage you to speak with someone on our recruiting committee.
2026 Summer Associate
We have completed our hiring process for 2026 Summer Associates for second-year law students. Consideration of first-year law student applications will take place around January/ February 2026. If you are interested in applying, please check back.
