- Served as embedded counsel at trial, obtaining $54 million in verdicts over two related trials, arguing nearly every evidentiary objection in both trials, and handling arguments regarding jury strikes, jury charges, and a mistrial motion.
- Part of the appellate team that preserved a $40 million verdict in a Georgia Supreme Court products liability case.
- Represented Georgia Equality as amicus curiae before the U.S. Supreme Court in Bostock and the related landmark Title VII sexual orientation and gender discrimination cases.

Business Disputes
- Authored briefing that secured dismissal, on personal jurisdiction grounds, of a suit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia against a European electronics company whose products were incorporated into automobile components.
Class Actions
- Part of the Bondurant team representing community members in actions brought against BioLab and its affiliate companies in connection with the September 2024 chemical fire that devastated the surrounding area. The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia appointed Bondurant as one of four firms serving as co-lead counsel in the consolidated litigation, and Amanda Kay was chosen to co-chair committees on Law and Briefing and Discovery for coordinated litigation.
- Secured class-wide relief for Georgia’s State Health Benefits Plan beneficiaries subject to discriminatory coverage exclusions in health insurance plans offered to public employees.
- Obtained summary judgment on liability in favor of a certified class of juvenile pretrial detainees entitled to special education services who were denied those services during detention.
Corporate Governance and Shareholder Litigation
- Part of the team that guided Equifax investors to a $149 million cash settlement related to the 2017 data breach.
- Part of a team that guided Mohawk investors to a $60 million cash settlement in a suit alleging misrepresentations related to sales growth and demand for luxury vinyl tile products.
- Part of a team that guided investors to a $50 million cash settlement after allegations that the investors purchased stock at prices artificially inflated by the defendant’s misrepresentations about the source of its revenue.
Financial Institutions Litigation
- Obtained $95 million jury verdict on behalf of offshore liquidators against Deutsche Bank for its negligence in facilitating a Ponzi scheme. Amanda Kay was the chief architect of the directed verdict briefing that ensured the case went to the jury, helped design trial strategy, and was one of three attorneys who cross-examined the Bank’s witnesses.
RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations)
- Represented sex trafficking survivors in a first-of-its-kind trial against hotels that facilitated their trafficking, resulting in multiple confidential settlements.
- Successfully defended a private corporation and its outside counsel in a series of related malicious prosecution suits filed in state and federal court alleging RICO claims, conspiracy, and violations of plaintiffs’ constitutional rights. Amanda Kay assumed responsibility for arguments regarding the retroactive application of amendments to Georgia’s RICO statute. Ultimately, the Georgia Court of Appeals adopted the Bondurant team’s reasoning, and all claims brought against Bondurant clients were dismissed with prejudice.
- Successfully defended a $500 million RICO case filed against 20 corporate defendants, alleging conspiracy spanning four continents and four decades. Amanda Kay and the Bondurant team persuaded the trial court to dismiss the case and also successfully defended that dismissal on appeal in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Trusts and Estates / Fiduciary Duty Litigation
- Delivered global settlement to trust beneficiary in suit alleging trustee breached fiduciary duties and violated trust terms by transferring trust assets to an illiquid partnership, resulting in a settlement that led to the trustee resigning authority over multiple trusts, including those not subject to the litigation that generated the settlement.
