  • Representing corporate defendants in a Georgia RICO action seeking hundreds of millions of dollars in damages.
  • Defending bespoke luxury automaker against bet-the-company trademark, trade dress, and other IP claims.
  • Pursuing claims on behalf of owner of utility-scale solar power projects against projects’ general contractor.
  • Achieved multiple confidential settlements for sex trafficking victims against hotels that facilitated their trafficking.
  • Secured the dismissal of federal RICO claims and affirmed the dismissal on appeal for a major airline.
  • Obtained a jury verdict for defendants on all claims, including state RICO, in an action seeking over $15 million in damages.
  • Defended the City of Atlanta’s COVID-19 mask order against a lawsuit brought by Governor Kemp.
  • Represented Athens-Clarke County in defending against challenges to its COVID-related ordinances.
  • Represented two whistleblowers in a False Claims Act case against a pharmaceutical company, leading to a $116 million global civil/criminal settlement.
  • Obtained a confidential settlement for a woman sexually harassed by prominent on-air media personalities before filing suit.
  • Served as plaintiffs’ counsel in a professional malpractice, fraud, and RICO case against a Big Four accounting firm, resulting in a confidential settlement.
  • Served as plaintiffs’ counsel in a class action breach of contract/RICO case against a Fortune 100 shipping company, resulting in a $21.5 million settlement for overcharging customers.

Pro Bono

  • Represented amici, including former prosecutors, in challenging the conviction of Johnny Lee Gates, which resulted from prosecutorial misconduct. Mr. Gates was ultimately released 43 years after being sentenced to death.
  • Achieved a successful outcome for an inmate abused by a prison official.
  • Assisted tenants facing eviction through the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation’s Eviction Defense Program.
  • Led the representation of the Legislative Black Caucus of Georgia, Georgia Association of Latino Elected Officials, and the League of United Latin American Citizens in challenging Georgia’s 2011 redistricting plans.
  • Challenged Georgia’s lethal injection secrecy act on behalf of a death row inmate, including oral argument before the Georgia Supreme Court.
  • Secured a favorable result for an elected official asserting a defamation claim related to false political advertising.
