Fourteen Bondurant attorneys recognized as 2026 Super Lawyers, seven as Rising Stars

Bondurant proudly announces 14 of its attorneys are recognized as Super Lawyers and seven as Rising Stars in the 2026 rankings. Notably, Mike Terry is named one of Georgia’s top 10 attorneys for the fourth consecutive year.

Each year, no more than five percent of lawyers in the state are selected by Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters rating service recognizing outstanding attorneys across more than 70 practice areas. The selection process is based on peer recognition and professional achievement and includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates, and peer review by practice area.

The Rising Stars selection process is the same as Super Lawyers, with one exception: to be eligible, a candidate must be either 40 years old or younger or in practice for 10 years or less.

Here is the complete list of Bondurant attorneys and their selection years:

Bondurant Associates Author U.S. Supreme Court Amicus Brief in Federal Habeas Case

Earlier this year, Bondurant associates Jeff Chen and Matthew Sellers filed an amicus brief in the U.S. Supreme Court in Bowe v. United States, a federal habeas case arising out of the Eleventh Circuit. Jeff and Matthew submitted the brief, which supports Petitioner Michael Bowe, on behalf of a group of legal scholars, including Steve Vladeck, the Agnes Williams Sesquicentennial Professor of Federal Courts at the Georgetown University Law Center, who also co-authored the brief.

The Supreme Court heard argument in Bowe last week, during which Mr. Bowe’s counsel cited and summarized the amicus brief in response to questioning from several Justices about Congress’s power over the Supreme Court’s jurisdiction.

Bowe highlights conflicting interpretations of a statute that limits repeat habeas corpus petitions. Several federal courts, including the Eleventh Circuit, have applied the statute to federal prisoners, which has effectively foreclosed relief to people like Mr. Bowe who are serving time for convictions that are no longer legally valid.

Jeff and Matthew’s amicus brief addresses a neighboring statutory provision that strips the Supreme Court of jurisdiction to review gatekeeping determinations regarding repeat habeas corpus petitions. After describing the constitutional limits on Congress’s power to take jurisdiction away from the Supreme Court, the brief warns that construing the jurisdiction-stripping provision to apply to Mr. Bowe’s case would raise serious constitutional concerns.

Judge upholds $2.35M verdict against Sig Sauer over pistol shooting in Georgia

A federal judge has upheld a $2.35 million jury award in a product liability case against Sig Sauer. The case, which centered on alleged design flaws, was the first jury verdict finding the gunmaker negligent for an unintentional discharge.

Naveen Ramachandrappa and Matthew Sellers serve as appellate counsel, successfully defending the verdict against Sig Sauer’s motions for directed verdict, a new trial, and reduced damages.

Co-counsel and lead counsel Robert Zimmerman and Ryan D. Hurd of Saltz Mongeluzzi Bendesky continue to litigate against Sig Sauer across the country on behalf of injured victims.
